Dr. Don Higginbotham

Don is a native of San Antonio, married to Sue Goerges Higginbotham, with 3 children and 5 grandchildren. Don was called to ministry as a teenager in Harlandale then educated at Texas A&I, University of Texas, Southwestern Theological Seminary, and San Francisco Theological Seminary. He served in the US Army from 1971-74, Minister of Youth and Music at Kirby and Crossroads Baptist Churches, and as Pastor of the First Baptist Churches of Pleasanton and Harlingen prior to his arrival in Fredericksburg. He enjoys traveling, playing golf, repairing golf clubs, and music.

Gary Covin
Gary has a passion for leading God's people in worship through music. Born and raised in San Antonio, Gary surrendered his life to the ministry at the age of eleven. He received a degree in Church Music from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas and has been in the music ministry for over thirty years. He has previously served at First Baptist Bartlett, First Baptist McGregor, First Baptist Harris Creek, and First Baptist Edna. Gary and his wife, Theresa, have four children.

Sue Gustin
Interim Mother's Day Out Director
Sue and her husband, Buzz, moved to Fredericksburg in May, 1999 and she began working in the Mom’s Day Out ministry that fall. A native Texan, she has lived in many different towns in Texas and was really excited to return to the Hill Country. After becoming a Christian as a young adult, Sue began serving as a teacher with children and has always felt a strong desire to share God’s love with children and join them on their Spiritual journey. In March 2002 she was called to serve as the Children’s minister and was licensed to the Gospel Ministry by First Baptist Church in December 2007. Sue and Buzz have a son, Chris, who lives in Las Vegas.
