Hey everybody!!! I hope that you have had a great summer even though it has blown by very quickly. This last summer has seen some major changes for me and my life. I graduated college, started a new job, and got married in a matter of days! This has certainly not been a bad thing because throughout this entire time, God has instilled in me that I am in HIS will. There is nothing better in this entire world than walking in the way of God’s will. Isaiah 26:8 makes it very clear that praising Him should be the desire of our hearts. I have seen our youth group grow by leaps and bounds from where we were at the beginning of April. We have become a family. I’ve been hearing our youth talking about what God is doing in their lives and nothing can make me happier. As we press on toward the school year, I have one challenge for you: Don’t forget what the Lord has taught you. It is so very easy to lose sight of everything when Satan begins to tempt you. My prayer is you all continue to ask God to strengthen your faith during the school year.
There are two big things that I am really looking forward to this month and I hope that you will be too! The youth will be in charge of the Sunday morning service on August 8th. This is such a wonderful opportunity for our youth to use the gifts that the Lord has given them. We have many students that have volunteered their talents of music, speech, and service to our amazing Lord. I am so blown away by the way that our youth are willing to volunteer their time to lead others in worship. Another date to mark on your calendar is August 22nd. This is the day that we will be promoting to the next grade in Sunday school. I love this day because we have an opportunity to welcome our incoming sixth graders. Come early because our Youth leaders will be there to serve you a great breakfast! Who doesn’t love that?
The Lord has so much in store for the school year! My prayer for you is that you will be excited about what He is doing and join on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings. We always have such a fun time together. God is continually blessing us by allowing the Holy Spirit to work through us every day. There are two things that you can do: 1. Come to youth. 2. Bring your friends! God is going to do some huge things this summer and you will definitely want to be a part of it.
