This is information that you voluntarily supply to us through comments, contact cards, email, or the First Baptist Church website. It is information that you provide to us for such things as prayer requests, surveys, volunteering for First Baptist ministries, changing your contact information, church membership, etc. All personal information is kept confidential and is not distributed, sold, or shared with anyone. It is strictly used for the purposes of allowing First Baptist Church to encourage you in your walk with Jesus Christ.
  2. Technical Information
This is information that is exchanged between our computers and yours when visiting our website. This information is anonymous and does not personally identify you. It includes, but is not limited to, your IP address, referring URL, type of web browser, browser display settings, and whether you are a first-time visitor or returning visitor to the site. We use third-party spam detection services to minimize unwanted advertisements. We use third-party website traffic analysis to aggregate and analyze how our website is being used.

We may place a “cookie” on your computer, which is used to recognize you when you visit our site. Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored on your computer’s hard drive containing information about your browsing session on our website. They allow First Baptist Church to simplify subsequent visits and to enhance your personal experience in using our web site. Most computers are set up to automatically receive cookies. Embedded Content from Other Websites

Content on this website includes embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles) from other (not First Baptist) websites. For example, First Baptist worship service videos are maintained in our YouTube channel. Embedded content behaves in the same manner as if you visited the other website.

These other websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content. Please consult the privacy and terms of use policies for any third-party websites.

Links

This website may contain links to other sites. First Baptist Church does not endorse or receive any financial benefit from the entities for which links are provided. Links to third party entities and related materials and information are provided only as an element of our ministry. These sites are not owned or operated by First Baptist Church and we are not responsible for the privacy policies or information collection practices of these sites. The Privacy Policy of First Baptist Church does not apply to such third parties and they are responsible for their own privacy statements. We encourage you to be aware of the privacy statements of each website that collects your personally identifiable information.

Uses of Information Collected

Any information that First Baptist Church collects and that you provide is strictly used to extend the ministry of our church. We do not sell, lease, or distribute any information to any commercial entities.

Analytics

First Baptist uses a third-party website traffic analysis service to gather aggregated, anonymous information about website usage. This includes date/time, country, browser type, language, length of session, and first-time or repeat user. It does not include any personally identifying information about individuals browsing our website.

How Long We Retain Your Data

Any personal information you provide or technical information we collect may be maintained indefinitely.

Rights You Have Over Your Data

The First Baptist website does not allow individuals (except its church staff and technical support personnel) to register or setup accounts. It does not allow individuals to post general comments or reply to content. If you choose to contact us through the church website (such as submitting a contact form or prayer request or sending us an email) we have only the personal data you choose to provide.

Submitting an online form from our website results in an email with the information you provided being sent to church staff and technical support personnel. It is not retained in a website database. Thus, your personal information is stored only in First Baptist’s email servers and backups. On a periodic basis old and deleted emails are purged from our servers. Backup copies may persist until they are overwritten.

Occasionally we use a survey form on our website to collect information about our ministries. Survey information is retained until it has been aggregated and analyzed. It is deleted from the website within twelve months following collection.

First Baptist’s records retention policy governs how long we maintain information required for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where We Send Your Data

First Baptist’s website is hosted by a third-party service located in the United States. All our website information is, thus, retained in the U.S.A. on commercial web servers not owned or operated by First Baptist. Our website host is responsible for meeting all required data security and protection standards. If a data breach should occur in our website host’s service, that organization is responsible for all notification, mitigation, and corrective actions.

First Baptist does not transfer website server data outside the control of our host service.

By voluntarily submitting personal information on First Baptist’s website, users are specifically granting First Baptist authorization to collect, use, and retain such data within the constraints of this Privacy Policy.

Financial Information

First Baptist uses a third-party service to process online and electronic contributions. Our financial processor is certified to meet Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) provisions.

First Baptist does not conduct any other types of financial transactions on or through our website. Thus, we do not have or collect financial information for any website user. Our online contributions processor is entirely responsible for the security of financial transactions they handle, and for notification, mitigation, and corrective actions should any data breach be discovered.

Third Parties We Receive Data From

First Baptist receives a record of contributions periodically from our third-party online and electronic contributions processor. This includes the contributor’s name, date of contribution, amount of contribution, and any contributor designation for the gift. It does not include the contributor’s payment information (credit/debit card information, bank information, or other personal information).

First Baptist does not receive personal data about web users from any other source.

Automated Decision Making and/or Profiling We Do with User Data

First Baptist’s website uses a third-party spam detector to minimize unwanted advertisements and posts. We use aggregated, anonymous web traffic statistics provided by a third-party to assess the general health and use of our website. We use a third-party website security service that blocks attacks, failed login attempts, and IP addresses suspected of being malicious. Beyond those, we make no automated decisions based on user data.

First Baptist is not a member of a regulated industry or subject to additional privacy laws.
