Our Ministers

Bill was born and grew up in Bridge City, Texas. He is a graduate of Texas A&M, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Atlantic Coast College of Bible and Seminary. Before being called to First Baptist Fredericksburg, Bill pastored two churches for a total of 30 years in south Texas. He served as pastor of Island Baptist Church, located on South Padre Island, for the previous 22 years.

Bill and his wife, Valarie, have been married for 37 years. They have three adult children.

Hayden was born and raised in Mansfield, TX, and has spent most of his life, before his call to First Baptist, in the DFW area. He holds his Bachelor of Musical Arts and Master of Arts in Education Ministry Leadership, both from Dallas Baptist University. Before his call to Fredericksburg, Hayden served and assisted many churches in the DFW area on a volunteer, music supply, and interim basis with their respective music ministries. Hayden was licensed and commissioned for the ministry by Hillcrest Baptist Church in Cedar Hill, TX on March 17, 2024, and was ordained for the ministry by FBC Fredericksburg on October 13th, 2024.

Outside of music and ministry, in his free time, Hayden enjoys spending time with family, his wonderful wife Macie, and cheering on the Texas Rangers, Dallas Stars, and DBU Baseball. Hayden’s life scripture is Romans 12:21. Soli Deo Gloria!

Catherine is married to Zachary Zenner and has two children, Charlie and Brodie. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and has a minor in Child Development/Psychology. Catherine began her position at FBC as an Interim Children’s Minister in August 2009, and was called as Children’s and Young Families Minister by an overwhelming vote of support from the congregation. She has served in this role since January 1, 2011. Catherine was licensed to the Gospel Ministry by FBC on November 3, 2013. She has been a member of FBC since 2007.

Catherine leads the children of our home church and community at Vacation Bible School (VBS) and an extensively planned summer of events. Ongoing opportunities include: Sunday School, ARK, Parent’s Night Out, AWANA, Children’s Church, Volunteers in Preschool (VIPs), and much more. Catherine remains an active volunteer in our local school district helping in classrooms, the PTO, children’s mentoring, and reading programs. She currently serves on the board of Restoring Hope International, a non-profit agency that serves to support on going efforts for orphans in South Africa.

Jeremy was born in Brownsville, TX and spent his early childhood there before moving to Fredericksburg at age 5, where he grew up. He was active among many fine arts programs including band, jazz band, choir, and one act play. After graduating from FHS in 2018, Jeremy went to Howard Payne University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Practical Theology ’22 and a Master of Arts in Youth and Family Ministry ’24. During this time, he has served many different churches as a youth intern, volunteer, Co-Youth Minister, and Director of Children’s and Youth Activities.

Outside of the youth ministry sphere Jeremy enjoys singing classic country songs, two-stepping, country swing dancing, and playing video games. Jeremy’s life verse is Exodus 20:2.
